Beyond the Code
Exploring the human interface of Drew Mastovsky. Where high-performance systems meet the open water and mountain peaks.
Analog Interests
Competitive Sailing
Grew up on the water and race for the Beverly Yacht Club. Whether it's college dinghy racing or offshore stretches like the Marion to Bermuda and Marblehead to Halifax races, I'm always looking for the next starting line.
Skiing
Learned to ski with buddies during college and never looked back. I keep an active Ikon pass to chase powder from the East Coast out to Denver and the Alps.
Traveling
Frequently traveling for regattas and downtime. Finding off-grid balance and warm water in places like St. Thomas, St. Croix, and Aruba.
Family Time
Whether it's staying connected while I'm traveling or gathering back home, family is my anchor. I value the time spent with the people who have supported my journey from the very beginning.
The Navigator's Origin
I approach computer science with the same tactical mindset I use on the water. Growing up sailing taught me early on how to read complex, shifting systems and adapt on the fly. I believe the most elegant software solutions come from that same ability to understand the underlying structural integrity of the environment you're operating in.
When I'm not grinding out code or studying at Roger Williams University, you'll find me completely unplugged. Whether I'm representing the RWU sailing team—and taking home the 2024 Team Racing National Championship—or carving up mountains out west with my college buddies, I thrive in high-energy, dynamic environments.
